Nestled at the base of the Napa Valley’s Mt. St. Helena, Jericho Canyon Vineyard’s steeply terraced forty-acre vineyard follows the contours of the land. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec thrive in this canyon’s extreme summer heat and cool morning fog. In order to achieve full maturity in each varietal, the grapes are picked in many small lots and then fermented with native yeast. In 2000, we began picking on September 25th and finished five weeks later on November 3rd. Only the finest lots were blended into Don Vincenzo’s 2000 Napa Valley Red Wine. After twenty months of barrel aging in both new and old French oak, this wine was bottled without fining or filtration in August 2002.
