Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, Jericho Canyon Vineyard 2001 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a lush and elegant wine which is layered with flavor. A deep ruby color, it yields scents of licorice, espresso, cassis, blackberry, and bitter chocolate. With huge yet supple tannins, this wine is ready to drink immediately or should cellar well for many years.

A ripe, plush, generous style, with a rich core of spicy plum, blackberry and wild berry fruit. Achieves a wonderful balance among its opulent flavors, subtle, toasty oak shadings and big yet supple tannins. Finishes with a complex network of flavors and textures. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2006 through 2012. 475 cases made.

First at Rudd and then under his own name, consulting wine guru David Ramey made this vineyard renowned for top-flight Cabernet Sauvignon. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc boasts a dense ruby/purple color along with a classic perfume of crème de cassis, licorice, smoky oak, and spice. This medium to full-bodied, rich, full-throttle, nicely-textured, tannic 2001 should drink well for 10-15 years.
