It is hard to go wrong with a 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, but you can go very very right with Jericho’s West Wall addition. A wet January, March, and April filled and refreshed the soils, allowing the vines to grow impeccable fruit. Mother Nature outdid herself this vintage.
The is a wine with aromatic intensity and depth. Weighty, with a dark fruit flavor profile. Its violet floral lift is grounded with an earthier, dark roasted coffee aroma. It is a bit sexy and seductive, with softer, voluptuous curves drawn from the barrel ferment. You might want to turn the lights down low for the long, lingering finish. 2016 West Wall was grown in blocks 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 17, 18, and House East with slopes ranging from 20-60%. Whole berry fermented in French oak barrels.
